When Architecture Becomes the Design: A Wedding at Grove Station

This wedding challenged the traditional approach of relegating the ceremony to the perimeter of the venue, instead allowing Grove Station’s extraordinary architecture to become an integral part of the design.
The concept centered on one remarkable feature: Grove Station's dramatic, adjustable chandelier.
Rather than treating it as a background detail, we made it the centerpiece of the entire floral story. The chandelier was designed first, with the ceremony flowers placed directly beneath it to create an immersive experience where florals and architecture became one cohesive composition.
Every design decision was guided by the building itself. The ceremony floral arch was intentionally selected to mirror the graceful curves of Grove Station's signature windows, allowing the installation to enhance the venue's existing character rather than compete with it.
Too often, weddings introduce shapes that feel disconnected from their surroundings—such as angular, triangle arches in spaces defined by sweeping curves, for example. This concept embraced architectural harmony, proving that thoughtful design can create an aesthetic that feels both timeless and elevated.
The same philosophy extended beyond the ceremony. Rather than separating each part of the wedding experience, the reception was positioned directly behind the ceremony space.
This layered approach allowed guests to glimpse the beautifully styled tablescapes throughout the vows, building anticipation for the celebration ahead while allowing the reception florals to visually enrich the ceremony itself.
Framed by the floral arch, the cake became an intentional focal point, woven seamlessly into the floral story.
Instead of designing each event independently, the entire wedding unfolded as one continuous, immersive environment, with every element working together to create a greater aesthetic impact.
The result: a stunning ode to the dialogue between architecture and floral design—a composition where structure, texture, and bloom felt inevitably intertwined.
